About Us
In 1986 Kenneth .J. Cassell began his private Architectural practice in Montserrat after returning home from University studies in North America. The firm “K.J. Cassell Architects” was then registered as a design firm. The early focus on residential-type projects expanded into a broad range of institutional projects after the passage of hurricane Hugo in 1989. K.J. Cassell Architects played a significant role in the re-building effort, including; the design and supervision of educational, commercial, and religious facilities, plus a new kitchen & laundry facility for the Glendon Hospital in Plymouth.
In 1995 came the onset of volcanic activity on the Island. During high uncertainty from late 1995 to 1997, the practice was relocated to neighboring Islands. The Architect teamed up with friends to form a design-build company (NADCO) based in St. Maarten, offering services to clients in St. Maarten & Anguilla. The K.J. Cassell Architects was re-opened on Montserrat in 1997 after the Government of Montserrat began to develop the North of the Island.
The firm was incorporated in 2000 and expanded to offer engineering and project management services. Over the past 15 years, K.J. Cassell Consultants Ltd. (KJCC) has been a leading design consultant firm on Island, playing a significant role in developing the north of Montserrat. The KJCC’s portfolio now includes a broad range of project types, including several schools, office buildings, housing, the Glendon Years Home for the Elderly in Brades, and the New Dental Clinic in Sweeney’s.
Over this period, KJCC also teamed up with several large overseas firms to design and supervise significant projects, such as the John .A. Osborne Airport in Gerald’s and the Little Bay Town Center Infrastructure Development Project.
KJCC continues to play a significant role in the development of North of Montserrat. We are very optimistic about Montserrat’s future and keen to play an even more prominent role in the re-building effort and the “rebirth” of the Emerald Isle.

Architectural Design & Modelling
Ince its inception in 1986 on Montserrat K.J. Cassell Consultants Ltd has evolved from its early focus on the design and supervision of residential type projects to providing a full compliment of design services on a broad range of residential institutional, educational, commercial, and religious developments across Montserrat and several neighboring Islands.
Engineering
K.J. Cassell Consultants Ltd has worked closely with select civil and structural engineering firms from Montserrat, St. Kitts and Barbados as associates on many of our projects. Based in Basseterre St. Kitts, Brisbane McGrath Engineering Consultants Ltd. has been our primary associate for larger projects over the past 5 years.
Project Management
K.J. Cassell Consultants Ltd has managed the development of mostly residential projects for select Clients. The Principal Architect’s first degree included a strong focus on Project Management which prepared him well to provide this service which is required by Clients who are based overseas and need professional project coordination and control
